![]() | Dante Bichette, also known as “The Boogeyman,” was a four-time MLB All-Star Outfielder who played from 1988–2001. He is most famously remembered as a founding member of the “Blake Street Bombers” during his tenure with the Colorado Rockies (1993–1999), though he also played for the California Angels (1988–1990), Milwaukee Brewers (1991–1992), Cincinnati Reds (2000), and Boston Red Sox (2001). Bichette etched his name into baseball history by hitting the first home run in Colorado Rockies history in 1993. He finished his career with 1,906 hits, 274 home runs, and 1,141 RBI. His 1995 season remains one of the most dominant in franchise history, as he led the National League in hits, home runs, RBIs, and slugging percentage, narrowly finishing second in the NL MVP voting. Dante is the father of current New York Mets infielder Bo Bichette.
